Following up on the ABNC Archive Series, in 1994 American Bank Note released the American Paper Money Collection. This was a set of thirty-six reprints, many in color, of representative banknotes from each state (and DC), up to Montana, in order of statehood date. Each reprint was affixed to a dark green, foil-embossed backing card, which slipped into a clear sleeve that was punched for a special vinyl binder. Because of the backer, it is difficult to view the backs of the reprints, but all have the typical ABNC disclaimer text. Every banknote was accompanied by an information sheet with historical background written by Gene Hessler. This product was marketed directly to the numismatic community. Complete albums remain popular, though these tend to be scarce and fetch premium bids on auction.
