Some time in the 1980s, ABNC collaborated with Hallmark Cards to market a set of four engraved greeting cards. The vignettes were relatively small, trimmed, and mounted on a folded card with a die-cut window showing the engraving and with a greeting printed on the front. These cards are quite scarce. No date is indicated on them or the box; they may have been an early experiment, after which ABNC decided to produce their own cards.

In 1988, ABNC released five sets of larger cards, printed directly on the paper. Themes included horses, trains, sailing ships, flowers, and Christmas; each set had six designs in a single color. The cards were blank on the inside. The Christmas cards proved the most popular, and ABNC reprised these with a second issue, this time printing all the designs both in brown and in green. The original five sets came in boxes of twenty-four, with envelopes. The later Christmas sets were in boxes of twelve and also came with small peel-off foil seals bearing the ABNC logo.
